Why make things difficult when we can do it together? The collective BusinessLine
Published on 15 March 2023The roads are busy in the entire Brainport region. Also in the Northwest. As a result, employers are faced with various mobility challenges. Poor accessibility, employees who arrive late or drop out, loss of time and therefore money. How do we solve this? It helps if fewer people drive to work. But often it is too far to cycle or public transport is not an option due to poor connections. Solving the problem alone requires a lot of organization and especially a lot of costs.
What then? Tackling the challenges collectively! That is exactly what we do with the BusinessLine from the Brainport Bereikbaar program. Read how.
To work!
On the morning of March 8th, we organized a (delicious) breakfast session for 13 employers from Noordwest in the BIC. The goal? To find out which mobility challenges are playing in Noordwest and investigate whether a collective approach is a solution.
Enthusiasm aroused
Upon arrival, the participants immediately got to work: they indicated their challenges on a poster. Cross them off! The enthusiasm for the BusinessLine as a solution for the mobility problems of employers in the North West was well aroused during the morning session. A number of reactions from those present:
- 'We are already working on offering personal transport, but not from a collective. While that is what makes the BusinessLine really interesting'
- 'We don't have enough employees to organize this ourselves. But if there is a line, we'll gladly get on board!'
- 'Our problem now is mainly on the last mile to the office. The BusinessLine can get close enough to eliminate that problem'
And now?
Now we really get to work. With a lightning inventory during a short conversation we find out whether an organization is eligible to participate in the BusinessLine. If the outcome is positive, we continue with the rest of the step-by-step plan: the mobility scan, the implementation plan, the route scan, the formalization and the start with one or more BusinessLine routes. The employees can then travel along. Whether employees actually join the BusinessLine depends, among other things, on how the BusinessLine is communicated. That is why we support employers with tips and tools to stimulate this behavioral change among employees.
Urgency
If you are interested, start the first steps quickly. The collective potential must be known by summer '23. Only until then is there time to influence the solution.
Where does the BusinessLine operate?
This collective private bus transport solution drives directly to and from business parks in the Brainport region. With stops close to the highway and as few stops as possible. The BusinessLine is also expected to drive on the hard shoulder along the traffic jam on certain routes. A number of routes have already been investigated. Together with participating employers, we will determine which routes we will start with.
